Shanghai Association of Higher Education (SHAHE) and International Exchange Committee (IEC)

 

 Shanghai Association of Higher Education (SHAHE) was Shanghai Higher Education Research Association, which was established in November 1979 and changed to its current name in April 1983. SHAHE has 70 university group members (covering all full-time ordinary universities in Shanghai, as well as some private universities and adult universities), including branches such as the International Exchange Committee, and has a full-time and part-time higher education research team.


The presidents of the first to ninth councils of the association are: Liu Fonian(Former President of East Normal University ), Yu Li(Former Deputy Chairman of Shanghai Education Committee), Zhang Delong(Former Chairman of Shanghai Education Committee), Wang Shenghong(Former Vice Chairman of Shanghai CPPCC and Former President of Fudan University), Zheng Lingde(Former Chairman of Shanghai Education Committee), Zhang Weijiang(Former Chairman of Shanghai Education Committee), and the current president (tenth council) is Yin Jie(Deputy President of Shanghai Tech University, Former Deputy Chairman of Shanghai Education Committee); the secretaries-general are: Zheng Qiming, Xue Tianxiang, Yang Deguang, Xin Fuliang, Chen Guoliang, etc. Shanghai Association of Higher Education is a mass academic group that studies higher education science. Its purpose is to follow the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, follow the principle of "letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend", abide by the Constitution, laws and regulations and relevant national policies, abide by social ethics, organize and coordinate the city's research and exchanges on higher education and related fields, promote the development of disciplines, serve the reform and development of higher education, and serve the establishment of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

 

At the same time, the Shanghai Association of Higher Education also actively carries out various academic activities through various forms such as "topic assignment", "special seminars", "education forums", "achievement awards" and domestic and foreign academic exchanges. The development of these academic activities and the fruitful academic achievements they have produced have played a positive role in promoting the development of higher education and deepening the reform of higher education. The Shanghai Association of Higher Education will also further carry out training seminars, organize and carry out higher education evaluation and certification work. The journal "Education Development Research" is publicly issued, with a print run of nearly 6,000 copies per issue.

 

The International Exchange Committee (IEC) is affiliated to the Shanghai Association of Higher Education and was initiated by 15 universities including University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and Shanghai Ocean University. It mainly serves Shanghai universities in conducting international cooperation and exchanges, and serves the international mobility of university students, the internationalization of professional courses, the internationalization of teachers, and the internationalization of scientific research.
