Charter of International Exchange Committee


Article 1. The International Exchange Committee (hereinafter referred to as the " IEC ") is a branch of the Shanghai Association of Higher Education Society (hereinafter referred to as the "SHAHE") and is a component of the Society. IEC must abide by SHAHE 's charter, accept the SHAHE's leadership, and implement its work regulations after approval by the SHAHE 's Board of Directors.
Article 2. The purpose of IEC is to abide by the Constitution, laws, regulations and national policies, and under the organization and leadership of SHAHE, carry out business around the development planning, construction implementation, management and application of international exchange work in colleges and universities, strive to build an international exchange platform, and promote the high-quality development of the internationalization of colleges and universities' majors and courses, the internationalization of the faculty team, the internationalization of students, and the internationalization of scientific research.
Article 3. Tasks of IEC
1. Promote the establishment and development of cooperation and exchange relations between universities and foreign colleges, academic and industry associations, and international business organizations;
2. Organize (host) multilateral or bilateral international conferences, seminars, and exhibitions;
3. Organize and arrange various international teacher and student exchanges, mutual visits, training and other activities;
4. Serving the construction of Sino-foreign cooperative majors, internationalized courses and internationalized teaching staff in colleges and universities;
5. Serving colleges and universities in carrying out education and teaching, cultural exchanges and recruitment publicity activities for international students in China;
6. Serve the digital development of international education in universities.
Article 4. Leadership of IEC
1. IEC shall have a director, several deputy directors and a secretary general. The director, deputy directors and secretary general may be appointed and removed by the SHAHE 's board of directors, or may be democratically recommended by the committee members or elected by the member representative meeting. The term of office shall be determined by the committee members' meeting and reported to the SHAHE 's board of directors for approval.
2. The term of office of the director, deputy director and secretary general of IEC shall be decided by IEC members meeting and reported to SHAHE council for approval. The director, deputy director and secretary general of IEC shall be responsible for coordinating the work of IEC. When the director of the IEC cannot lead the work of the committee normally, a deputy director shall be appointed to take charge.
3. IEC leader group is Directors' Meeting composed of the Director, Deputy Director and Secretary General. The Directors' Meeting is the decision-making body of IEC. Major activities and matters of IEC must be decided by the Directors' Meeting.
4. The term of office shall be decided by the professional committee members meeting and reported to the society’s board of directors for approval.
Article 5. IEC shall have a secretariat with a secretary-general and several deputy secretaries-general, who shall be responsible for the daily work of IEC, personnel management and implementation of service projects. The secretariat may be equipped with a certain number of full-time or part-time staff as appropriate.
Article 6. IEC may recruit members related to the professional business from the members of the society, or develop members from the society. Members developed by IEC are also members of the SHAHE and must go through the membership procedures stipulated in SHAHE's charter.
Article 7. IEC may collect membership fees or accept donations from its own members, but the ownership of the collected membership fees and accepted donations belongs to SHAHE and shall be used for specific purposes under the unified financial management of SHAHE.
Article 8. Any changes in personnel, domicile, name, business scope, etc., or cancellation of IEC may be decided by the SHAHE's Board of Directors, or by IEC's Director's Committee and then reported to the SHAHE's Board of Directors for approval.
Article 9. The formulation and revision of the regulations of IEC shall be subject to the review, approval and approval of SHAHE's board of directors before they can be formally implemented.
Article 10. The SHAHE’s Board of Directors shall be responsible for interpreting the working regulations of IEC.
